QA Automation Engineer (Playwright)

DC, MD, VA
Full Time

About the Position

You’ll join a cloud-native modernization of a legacy platform built on Microsoft Azure. The platform supports regulatory business processes, so every release must meet high standards for security, scalability and compliance.

‍The role

‍You’ll build and maintain Playwright test automation using BDD. You’ll also do hands-on manual and regression testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You’ll work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, architects and business stakeholders to make sure each release is ready for production.

What you’ll bring

  • 5-8 years of software testing and QA experience
  • Hands-on experience building automated UI, functional and regression tests with Playwright ([TypeScript / C#])
  • Experience with BDD frameworks and writing Gherkin scenarios
  • Working knowledge of Xray, Jira, Azure DevOps and Visual Studio
  • A solid understanding of Agile delivery
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Comfort working with both business stakeholders and technical teams

‍

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain automated UI, functional and regression test suites in Playwright
  • Write BDD scenarios in Gherkin that turn requirements into executable tests
  • Run manual, functional, integration and smoke tests as needed
  • Manage test cases, execution and requirements traceability in Xray
  • Support QA, SIT and UAT activities for each release
  • Log, triage and track defects until they’re resolved
  • Take part in Agile ceremonies and requirements reviews, and flag testability gaps early
  • Work with business stakeholders and the development team to validate requirements
